BEFORE & AFTER
SCHOOL CARE
The Manly West Public School Before and After School Care centre was opened in 1994 by a group of parents looking for an alternative to existing after school care options. The centre opened with an attendance of eight children but has grown considerably over the last 26 years. The P&C recently funded another room for the centre to increase capacity and now caters for 210 children each session.
Our aim of Manly West Before and After School Care is to provide a safe, friendly, stimulating and caring environment where all children are valued and supported. Children are encouraged to engage in a range of play and leisure experiences that allow them to feel happy, safe and relaxed, interact with friends, practice social skills, solve problems, try new activities and learn life skills.

Rates & Hours (School Terms Only)
Before School Care $15.00 (7.00 am-9.00 am)
After School Care $24.00 (3.20 pm-6.30 pm)
Pupil Free Day (Terms 2&3) $80.00 (7.30 am-5.30 pm)
Manly West BASC is an "Approved" Childcare provider and the Child Care Subsidy can be applied to fees for eligible families. Please contact Centrelink for more information.
Enrolments
All Manly West families are eligible to enrol at BASC. Please be aware that we have waiting lists for both before school and after school sessions. We recommend you enrol as soon as possible if you require care. Please email admin@mwbasc.com.au for information on how to enrol.
Before School Care
Children arrive from 7:00 am and are assisted with preparing their own breakfast if required (breakfast is not provided). The children enjoy the varied activities until 9:00am when they are taken into the school playground as teachers come on duty.
After School Care
Children arrive from class after the 3:20 pm bell. A variety of nutritious snacks are provided by our Catering team. Educators run a varied program of activities covering areas such as art, craft, indoor/outdoor games, sports, cooking, technology & drama. Incursions from external providers are often used to extend the program even more.
Policies
Manly West Before and After School Care has a policy document which explains in detail all the policies we follow and a Family Handbook with information parents need to know.
It is advised that parents read the policies as you agree to abide by them upon enrolment.
